    Market Programs

    Young Entrepreneurs

    Young Entrepreneurs

One of the most successful programs run by the market, Young Entrepreneurs encourages kids aged 8-18 to test and sell their product ideas at the Farmers Market.

The program allows these young people to get creative with their ideas and then put them out for consumption at the market.

*The Farmers Market charges a reduced daily rate when they set up a booth at the market. They also cover the insurance costs with an umbrella policy for all Young Entrepreneurs. If available, the market will supply a tent thus making participating in the market very affordable for the kids*

Where else could you get a booth with the potential of 3,000 to 5,000 people to check out your stuff?

    Skills Learned

    • Customer Service
    • Money Management
    • Financial Reward by selling their products
    • and working with others in a professional setting

Come on out and support the entrepreneurial spirit of these kids. This year there will be up to 6 Young Entrepreneurs per week at the Summer Market.

    Interns

    Young Entrepreneurs

The market employs youth interns during the summer to help run the market.  The interns take part in almost all aspects of running the physical market including helping with set-up and take-down, interacting with vendors, running our Shop the Market and Information booth and taking on special projects of interest.

Through the internship, interns learn valuable skills such as time management, team work, and valuable interpersonal skills.

Please contact the Market Managers  at info@wpfarmersmarket.com or by using the Contact Form for information on intern opportunities.

    The Longer Table

    Seriously Seniors

The Longer Table is a program in which the Woodland Park Farmers Market is happy to participate. At the end of every market food is collected from participating vendors, and picked up for distribution at the Aspen Mine Center. Customers are invited to buy an extra item for the Longer Table basket when shopping for themselves.

We’re partnering with The Aspen Mine Center, located in southern Teller County where food insecurity and access to nutritious food present challenges. This organization serves families in need through a variety of resources. By working with us they can add fresh, healthy produce to their outreach. Your generous contributions will make a difference for this community.

    Vendors

What: we’ll consider anything you would like to donate.

    Shoppers

    Seriously Seniors

    Seriously Seniors

Woodland Park Farmers Market supports Vendors aged 70+ through our Seriously Senior Program.  The Market offers a reduced booth rate to seniors and for some seniors, is able to provide insurance coverage for a small fee.

    SNAP and DoubleUp

SNAP stands for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It has replaced the federal food stamp program, but it retains the same function: giving lower-income families more funds for foods. To use SNAP at our market, come to the Market Manager’s booth and swipe your EBT card (electronic benefit transfer) to withdraw SNAP funds. We'll give you those funds in the form of  paper SNAP bucks you can use to shop with our market vendors for fresh, healthy, take-home foods. The State of Colorado will match SNAP dollars with up to $20 of Double Up coupons per day to be used strictly on Colorado-grown produce.  Not sure if you qualify for SNAP benefits? To learn more about applying for SNAP visit: https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/apply.

    Music and Special Demonstrations

Each week the Farmers Market serves as a venue for a variety of entertainers as well as educational demonstrations.

Every week the market features talented, local musicians.

Local theater, dance, and other performance groups can also be found at the market periodically throughout the summer.

    Other entertainment

offerings include a face painter, story-time with our local librarians, and wildlife demonstrations.

    Come enjoy the fun!

If you are part of a local organization that might be interested in providing an educational demonstration, please reach out to us!
